The Macallan and Bentley Motors presents: The Macallan Horizon

The Macallan Horizon single malt whisky, created through the collaboration between The Macallan and Bentley Motors, was unveiled in Budapest at an exclusive event. The result of the partnership between these iconic brands brings together the art of whisky making and the world of luxury automotive craftsmanship. Two bottles of the limited-edition release have arrived in Hungary.

The Macallan Horizon is a unique expression born from the partnership between the more than 200-year-old Scottish whisky maker and the British luxury car manufacturer, combining the core values that define both brands – craftsmanship, innovation and a passion for design. The Hungarian premiere of The Macallan Horizon took place at the bar of the W Budapest hotel in an exclusive setting. The highlight of the event was the ceremonial unveiling of the bottle, followed by a symbolic handover: the limited edition was received by a representative of Mr. Alkohol, the retail partner of Coca-Cola HBC Hungary, the brand’s local distributor.

During the evening, the striking design of the Horizon bottle took centre stage. The bottle and its almost sculptural surrounding structure are composed of six materials, each playing a key role in the heritage of both The Macallan and Bentley Motors. True to its name, the spirit is housed in a horizontal glass vessel, made even more distinctive by a 180-degree twist. The glass is encased in a precisely engineered aluminium band, paying tribute to the material used in luxury car bodywork. The outer casing incorporates recycled copper, partly sourced from The Macallan’s former stills. This is complemented by walnut wood, also used in luxury car interiors, while the interior is lined with low-carbon leather. Finally, an oak inlay is featured in the closure, crafted from one of the six casks used to mature the whisky. Together, these elements represent the meeting of the two brands’ worlds.

At the heart of the composition is the refined and characterful single malt Scotch whisky itself, created exclusively for The Macallan Horizon by Kirsteen Campbell, The Macallan’s Master Whisky Maker. She selected six first-fill sherry-seasoned oak casks, blending these six individually distinctive spirits into one exceptional expression. Its flavour profile is rich and complex, featuring notes of butterscotch, ginger, pineapple, vanilla and dark chocolate, complemented by hints of oak and leather.
