Coca-Cola Hungary's #YouthEmpowered platform continues its series of curricula on the circular economy with a module on the energy cycle

After the online learning materials on the basics of the circular economy and the water cycle, the educational module on the energy cycle in the economy is now available on Coca-Cola Hungary's #YouthEmpowered platform. The new module explores the issues and challenges of individual and industrial energy use and demonstrates the benefits of environmentally conscious energy use through illustrative domestic and international examples. As in the previous modules, this module has been developed for the #YouthEmpowered programme by the faculty of the University of Pannonia Nagykanizsa - University Centre for Circular Economy.

Energy security is one of the most important issues in today's economy. We are using ever increasing amounts of energy to run our economy and the entire civilization, but this process comes at a price: the scarcity of natural resources and the continuous increase in energy consumption are posing huge environmental and economic challenges. The long-term, sustainable solution to energy use is also the principle of circularity, based on the principles of recycling and efficient use of energy and resources. This not only protects our environment but also brings many economic and social benefits.

In the circular economy, environmentally responsible energy use is the basis for a more stable and sustainable economy in the long term. Energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy sources increase the competitiveness of companies and reduce environmental risks. In the circular economy, the introduction of environmentally conscious energy use systems will stimulate consumer awareness. Its application gives people the opportunity to better understand the impacts of their energy use and to actively participate in measures to promote energy efficiency and sustainability.

Coca-Cola Hungary is committed to sustainability and conscious consumption, so in 2023 it started developing an online series of educational materials on the circular economy. The current module is the third in this series, followed by two more modules on the waste cycle. The University of Pannonia is a partner of the #YouthEmpowered programme.

Since 2018, users of Coca-Cola Hungary's #YouthEmpowered educational platform have been able to access learning materials primarily related to self-awareness and skills development. However, the range has now expanded considerably: in addition to self-awareness, time management, project management and business planning, the online modules now include legal, financial and tax-related learning materials. In 2023, a module on the basics of the circular economy was added to the free offer, followed by a module on the water cycle in 2024. This is continued in the material just published.
