Coca-Cola HBC Hungary gave inspiring presentations to guide young people on their career choices at HiFest

Thousands of young people got inspiration and advice about their future at the HiFest career guidance festival on the 7th of December, with our #YouthEmpowered programme as a key partner. Employees from Coca-Cola HBC Hungary shared their experiences on exciting topics such as career development, stress management, communication and decision-making challenges.

Our educational partner HiSchool held its largest ever career support festival, HiFeszt on the 7th of December, in the Lágymányos buildings of ELTE and BME. Coca-Cola HBC Hungary's #YouthEmpowered was a key partner of the eventwith a separate lecture hall, four presentations by three of our colleagues and a #YouthEmpowered registration desk.

Gergely Éder, Country Quality, Safety and Environment Manager of Coca-Cola HBC Hungary spoke about the importance of self-awareness and work-related choices talking through his own career journey in his presentation titled „Every decision can be a good decision if you believe in it, if you learn from it, if it's yours”. He explained that his decisions and changes in his path were often influenced by circumstances and the need to meet expectations, rather than full awareness, which is not a problem at all. However, in terms of self-awareness, credibility and effectivity, it is a great advantage if you feel that your decision is your own.

Szilvia Laky Capability Development Lead, gave two practical, practice-focused presentations. In her presentation entitled „What is stress good for? What is it not good for? What to do with it?” she highlighted the danger of falling to negative emotions in our everyday, information-overloaded environment, which is a primary source of stress. But if managed well, we can turn this to our own advantage. And in her presentation „We should speak up - but how?” she talked about changes in communication habits and thinking styles, including topics that young people may encounter in their everyday lives (formal and informal speaking, persuading a school principal or classmates).

Dóra Karsai, External Communications Manager of Coca-Cola HBC Hungary, highlighted the dilemmas young people face when making a career choice in her presentation entitled "Gate-opening panic - I want everything, but how to make the right decision?” in which she led the audience through her own real and perceived career path. Dóri pointed out that although teenage dreams and reality are often far apart, you are on the right track if you know your innermost desires and goals, if in addition to plan A you also make plan B, C, D for your future, if you don't forget your heroes and can remain yourself in the wave of impulses that reach you.

The new year also brings new features for the #YouthEmpowered programme: in January we will publish new useful educational modules on work addiction and burnout. Bernadette Kun dr, Associate Professor at ELTE PPK, was our partner in compiling the materials. We will soon announce our recently completed research comparing the work-related attitudes of Generation Z and Generation Y with the help of Kantar Hoffmann social researchers, and for our registered external users we launched our winter competition on the 3rd of December, which will run until the 30th of January.
