1000 people have already completed the free #YouthEmpowered training course

Since the start of the #YouthEmpowered program, 1000 young people have already completed the free, full-day training provided by Coca‑Cola HBC Hungary designed to equip jobseekers with the necessary tools to quickly find a job. The company invited NGOs last November to organise trainings via tender so even more entrants could learn basic social and entrepreneurial skills.

Upon arrival, the 1000th training participant was greeted with a cake in Szikszó, which host the latest stage of the #YouthEmpowered program in the country. The training was made possible by a tender for NGOs announced by Coca‑Cola HBC Hungary. So far, it allowed for the training of 700 young jobseekers last year and a further 300 this year, mostly in the countryside. The free, full-day training was designed to help young people find employment. 10 NGOs have provided 21 occasions for them this spring to join the courses.

The recent workshop on the 28th of May was organized in cooperation with the trainer of Szeklice Egyesület and József Tóth, Mayor of Halmaj and helped local, inactive young people acquire the life skills necessary for their development, free of charge. Orsolya Nyilas, External Communications Manager of Coca‑Cola HBC also joined the event as a mentor of #YouthEmpowered program delegated by the company.

The series of trainings will continue in September, and youngsters have been invited to a meet-up in the summer. The program will appear in several events, and more applicants are welcomed to join the 500 people already registered online.

#YouthEmpowered trainings were launched by Coca‑Cola HBC Hungary last autumn and was completed with a supplementary e-learning curriculum this April available on the website of the program. The initiative grew to country level by the 10 NGOs involved which conducted 1-3 trainings each until the end of May 2018 based on the modules provided. According to plans, the program will have trained 8000 young people to help them in job seeking by 2020.

„It is a fantastic achievement that we have surpassed 1000 participants in less than a year and made a tangible, positive impact on the labour market chances of young entrants. Statistics clearly show that there is a demand for sensitive and purposeful initiatives like #YouthEmpowered which help many inactive people find their way back to labour market through social solidarity” – said Valentin Tóth, director of Public Affairs and Communications at Coca‑Cola HBC.
