Since its foundation, Coop has made it a key business priority to offer as many products made in Hungary as possible. As a 100% Hungarian retail chain, it considers supporting and promoting the domestic food industry a responsibility. Products made in Hungary have always played a defining role on Coop’s shelves – making up more than 90% of its private label portfolio. To further strengthen this commitment, in 2006 Coop launched the “Coop Rally for Quality Hungarian Products” initiative, which has since allowed 151 companies to present their innovations to the wider public.
Coca-Cola HBC Hungary shares a similar approach. The company has been producing and innovating in Dunaharaszti for almost thirty years. The vast majority of its raw materials are sourced locally, with two-thirds of its suppliers being Hungarian businesses. In addition to serving the domestic market, Coca-Cola HBC Hungary exports to 14 other countries. In recent years, the company has implemented a series of developments – from logistics innovations using artificial intelligence to sustainable packaging solutions – that further strengthen the role of the Hungarian production base.
