Coca-Cola HBC Hungary adds special whiskies to its premium spirit portfolio

Two unique, new single malt whiskies are joining the premium spirit portfolio of Coca-Cola HBC Hungary from July. Highland Park’s 15-Year-Old Viking Heart single malt from the wild and exciting Orkney Islands and the crown jewel of The Macallan double cask range, the 30-year-old The Macallan Double Cask will be available in limited quantities in Hungary.

The exclusive 30-Year-Old The Macallan Double Cask is the first ultra-premium product in the Double Cask product family and will be available in limited quantities in the range of Coca-Cola HBC Hungary. This exceptional, perfectly balanced single malt whisky was matured for 30 years in a harmonious union of sherry seasoned American and European oak casks, to create a sweeter, warmer taste and character.

The aroma of this golden spirit blends fresh gingerbread, sweet caramel, red apple, fig and vanilla bean. Its taste reflects the soft melody of cinnamon, ginger, Madagascar vanilla, dried fruits and oak. The finish is dominated by a fusion of sweet oak, soft spices and toffee. The drink is kept in a solid oak box.

The Double Cask product family tells a story of an incredible journey from the vast green forests of Northern Spain and the French Pyrenees as well as the lush forests of Ohio, Missouri and Kentucky, to create the perfect harmony.

Every Macallan single malt reveals the commitment to the mastery of wood and spirit for which The Macallan has been known since it was established in 1824. For the company, it is essential to go beyond the ordinary, to seek out the extraordinary, and create pairless single malts. They are renowned for their exceptional oak casks, that give the whisky its natural colour and make a unique contribution to the quality, distinctive aromas and flavours.

Highland Park's 15-Year-Old Viking Heart Scotch whisky is a rich single malt with golden colour and complex aroma. Opening with rich and spicy aromas of crème brulée, hemp honey and crumbled cinnamon, intensely fruity notes follow - fresh pineapple with a scattering of sun-kissed lemon zest. A hint of freshly baked vanilla sponge cake and toasted cinnamon make the taste experience even more special.

To create the 15-Year-Old Viking Heart, first-fill European oak sherry seasoned casks were chosen to deliver warm, dry, spicy notes, while first-fill American oak sherry seasoned casks provide a balance of flavours with sweet vanilla and crème brulée notes. Lastly, the refill casks allow the DNA of Highland Park whisky to shine through, namely its gentle heather peat and lightly fruity character.

The drink arrives in a special bone-white ceramic decanter. The traditional packaging is made from sustainable materials, with an environmentally friendly process. The decanter is made of lead-free porcelain, glazed inside and out, which draws even more attention to the embossed design of the lion, snake and the Viking heart.

The process of making Highland Park whiskies is unchanged since 1798 and is based on 5 keystones: aromatic peat, hand-turned floor maltings, sherry seasoned oak casks, cool maturation and cask harmonization. No other distillery uses all five keystones. Highland Park is widely acknowledged as one of the greatest single malt brands in the world. They have the northernmost distillery in Scotland, located in a wild and fascinating region with Viking roots on the main island of the Orkney Islands, Kirkwall.
