Termination of Lavazza collaboration

Coca‑Cola HBC and Lavazza have announced today the ending of their collaboration in Hungary, effective from October 31st, 2019. Both companies are committed to providing the same support given to their customers and honour all current agreements in the period up to the effective date.

Prodromos Nikolaidis, Group Coffee Director  at Coca‑Cola HBC, said: “Our partnership has given us valuable expertise in an important category that supports our vision to become a total beverage partner, offering a diverse portfolio of beverages that addresses all drinking moments throughout the day. Coffee will continue to play a critical role in that moving forward. However, we have agreed that now is the right moment to go our separate ways as we explore new and different partnerships in this space.”

Mauro Mantovani, Global CCO of Lavazza Group said: „Hungary is a strategic country for us: we will accelerate our business activity on the market with a more direct approach in marketing, building solid partnerships with local Coffee Expertise and continuing without interruption all contracts from Coca‑Cola HBC. Coca‑Cola HBC has been a valuable partner for this stage in our development in the area. The mission of Lavazza, a premium global brand, is to promote the authentic experience of Italian coffee throughout the world, in all its forms, competing in all categories and channels, with a keyword at the heart of everything we do: quality.”
